Mass-Media in Education
Mass-Media plays an important role in education in today's generation ''Education today, therefore, has a for greater responsibility than it had ever before. it has to meet the demands of a dynamic world which change its character every day. contemporary education has to be more comprehensive and complete than it was ever before. the role of the various agencies of education like home, society,community etc. has consequently increased, so has the role of the mass media like television, newspaper, cinema, radio modern mass media like Facebook, whats-app, tweeter, Instagram has increased.
the motion picture, television, press, radio etc. are the most important mass media in education system. these are technically called passive agencies of education. they indirectly influence the attitude and behavior of the people. they also cover various kind of entertainment of moral judgement and moral tone of people.

RADIO
Radio is used mainly to broadcast events to far and wide places of the world. it act as the medium of mass communication. it is also an important sources of entertainment. students listen various talks, discussions and debates from radio which are extremely important and useful for them. many programmes are broadcast over the radio especially for the purpose of teaching. thus, radio act as a great recreational and educational force. it broadcasts scientific and cultural facts. it enlightens public opinion. it stimulates curiosity and interests. the radio is a valuable supplement to class teaching and learning. Educational broadcasting is a new experiment catching on well. expert teaching in such diverse fields of science, social studies, art, music, languages, politics, current affairs and other areas, can provide information and enrichment for pupils and for the teacher through school broadcasts. in collaboration with the experts, programmes are especially designed for different age groups in the schools.
TAPE RECORDS
Tape recording for example, can provide brief responsive drill in mathematics or shorthand; can teach English grammar; or can provide language study involving the voice of an experts and allowing opportunities for the student to record his response and than listen to it for comparison with that of the expert.
According to Jerrold E. Kemp ''Cassette tape recorders have become very common now a days, and their use in education is gradually increasing''. with the development of language laboratories and then the broadening of their use as electronic learning laboratories or audio centres to provide experience in many subjects, tape recordings by themselves have become an important educational aid. tape recordings, especially cassette tape recordings may be prepared for group or individual listening. it can be use separately or in combination with printed and projected materials for individualized instruction or self instruction.

CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION (CCTV)
In recent development and innovation of media communication in the field of education, the signel is sent to the receiver using co-axial cable in CCTV programme and the range depends on the length of the cable. the CCTV can used effectively in educational institution.

By means of the press through newspapers and other journals it is possible to link certain topics with everyday life. it makes pupils aware of what is happening in the world around them. thus the press renders an important service to education by imparting knowledge of current affairs to pupil.
reading matter has a vast potentialities. it exerts good influence on the individuals. it act on the intelligence and emotions of the individuals in shaping out attitudes and philosophies of life. the press covers the printed matter including books, magazines,journals or newspapers.
an educated individual has an open mind, a general awareness and knowledge of the world around him. his field of knowledge is vast and varied. press gather events, and also present their own views on issues. the reader gets an opportunity to consider an issue from many angles. the knowledge of history, geography, science, literature etc is supplemented by the newspapers.
MOTION PICTURES
Motion pictures exercise great influence on human mind. they create lasting values in the pupils. Educational films meet the challenge of commercial pictures, supplement them and explore new avenues of educating children and adults. they provide reality, influence attitudes, show cause effect relation and motivate the students. thus, they exercise great instructional force to be used intelligently in the classroom.
many areas of learning can be wisely dealt with the help of films. one can use these motion pictures in teaching of geography or science. Topic must be selected effectively and taught with the help of motion pictures.
